RIP THE NUT (2020)

Installation and Zoom performance December 2020

Hudson Opera House, Hudson, New York

“Rip The Nut” is choreographer Adam H. Weinert’s holiday combination of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite and Washington Irving’s Rip Van Winkle story, first presented as a live performance at the Hudson Opera House in 2016.

This mini-theater version was an emergency response to the COVID19 pandemic, and the cancellation of the annual live-show. Combining found photographs and audio, light, and and video, it was installed in the street-level windows of the Hudson Hall and streamed online for the month of December.
